According to one of the approaches to critical thinking, the outcome of critical thinking should be a critical decision, such as a change in beliefs, a choice made, or a decision on how to solve a problem.
There are many decision-making algorithms, and almost all of them include common steps: clarifying the problem (e.g., via questioning), gathering and analyzing information, developing criteria, and making a choice. Goal-setting, prioritization, risk assessment, and decision control may be added to this sequence. Describing decision-making algorithms, some researchers focus on logic and intuition or on objective and subjective constraints.
Before making a decision, it is necessary to understand what we are dealing with. What task or problem are we facing? What does it comprise? In this section, we have collected exercises that allow you to clarify the situation in order to make the right decision.
